3D-printed railway station built overnight in Japan with ABB robot’s help
Automation technology from ABB Ltd has helped construct Japan’s first 3D-printed railway station building, assembled overnight between the last train of the day and the first train the following morning.
The project was completed in collaboration with construction company Serendix and West Japan Railway Company (JR West), demonstrating how robotics and 3D printing could significantly reduce construction time and disruption to infrastructure operations.
