NITIC National BILT
NITIC regularly convenes a national BILT comprising high-level executives, hiring managers, and technicians from both large corporations and medium-to-small companies nationwide. These members possess a comprehensive understanding of the current and future landscape of the IT industry, including the requisite skills for graduates to be employable. The results of NITIC’s national BILT are disseminated to over 100 community colleges in our IT Innovation Network.
Participating in NITIC’s BILT offers members a unique opportunity to influence education and workforce development while remaining connected to industry trends and best practices.
TESTIMONIALS AND CASE STUDIESNITIC’s National BILT hosts two kinds of meetings with its members:
Mega BILT
Includes subject matter experts (SME) and other IT thought leaders across all IT disciplines. This meeting is held twice annually to discuss trends affecting the IT industry and forecasts out 3-5 years so that educators have advanced knowledge of changes that need to affect curriculum.
SME BILTs
Includes subject matter experts for a single IT discipline. These meetings are held every 1-2 years to prioritize a granular list of program-specific entry-level job skills (KSAs). The results of this prioritization meeting provide educators with a concrete, actionable list to better align curriculum with workforce needs.
