A.I. and Humans Battle It Out in a Cybersecurity Showdown
At the recent University of Texas, San Antonio-run National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition in Las Vegas, cybersecurity experts and students tested how AI performs in cyberwarfare scenarios. A “red team” of cybersecurity veterans used bespoke software tools to attack computer networks, while 10 collegiate “blue teams,” as well as a team from Anthropic spanning as many as 32 individual AI agents, defended them. Ultimately, the bots finished seventh. The winner was the team from Dakota State University.
