Getting Started with a Local BILT
For colleges interested in creating a more structured approach to employer engagement, this session will introduce the Business & Industry Leadership Team (BILT) model and provide guidance for getting started locally. Participants will gain a clear understanding of what a BILT is, how it differs from a traditional advisory board, and who should be involved in the planning process.
The session will cover strategies for identifying and inviting employer partners, structuring an effective first meeting, and asking skills-focused questions that generate meaningful workforce insights. Attendees will also learn how to capture and apply employer feedback to support continuous program improvement.
