NITIC Connects and Collaborates at HI-TEC 2026

The NITIC team had a great week at the 2026 High Impact Technology Exchange Conference (HI-TEC) in Austin, Texas. The event brought together educators, industry partners, and workforce leaders who are committed to strengthening technology education and preparing students for careers in IT.

A highlight of the conference was NITIC’s Special Interest Group session. Mini-Grant awardees and IT Innovation Network (ITIN) members shared their projects, lessons learned, and strategies for enhancing IT programs. The discussion sparked new ideas and gave attendees practical examples they can bring back to their own institutions. We also hosted a networking reception, which was open to all cybersecurity and IT conference attendees. More than 50 participants joined us for an evening of conversation and connection. The reception created an informal space for attendees to build relationships, exchange ideas, and expand their professional networks.

Throughout the conference, NITIC welcomed visitors to its exhibit booth. It was wonderful to reconnect with colleagues, meet new partners, and discuss emerging trends, workforce needs, and opportunities to collaborate through NITIC and ITIN.

From the exhibit hall to conference sessions and networking events, HI-TEC provided valuable opportunities to learn from one another and strengthen connections across the IT education community. The enthusiasm and innovation shared throughout the week were a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when educators and industry partners come together.

Thank you to everyone who attended our session, visited our booth, and joined us at the reception. We left Austin energized by the conversations and inspired by the great work happening across the country. We look forward to building on those connections and continuing to support the educators and programs that are developing tomorrow’s technology workforce.
