AI Summer Institute

North Arkansas College hosted an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summer Institute for faculty professional development addressing key issues including implementation of curricular updates, challenges with few AI-trained educators, limited hands-on AI learning opportunities, and a need for increased alignment with industry requirements. This presentation was presented at the Arkansas Community College Annual Conference.

The conference session description was as follows: Northark’s Summer Institute on AI inspired faculty to innovate their teaching practices for granter student engagement. Through hands-on exploration of various AI platforms, participants learned to generate creative prompts, engaging presentations, effective assessments, and dynamic multimedia experiences. The institute provided insights into using AI for efficient grading, personalized feedback, and identifying AI-created content all while considering the ethical landscape of AI in education. During the session, we will explore the organization, funding, and presentation of this training opportunity for our faculty.
