NSA/NSF GenCyber Grant 2003-2025

The goals of this program is as follows: sponsored by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the National Science Foundation (NSF), is designed to promote cybersecurity education across the United States. Its goals are centered around building a strong cybersecurity workforce and increasing awareness and interest in cybersecurity careers, especially among K–12 students and educators.
Core Goals of the GenCyber Program:

Increase Cybersecurity Awareness and Interest
Inspire students to pursue cybersecurity careers.
Introduce foundational cybersecurity concepts in engaging ways.

Strengthen Teaching Capacity
Provide professional development for K–12 educators.
Equip teachers with resources and strategies to integrate cybersecurity into their curriculum.

Promote Diversity and Inclusion
Encourage participation from underrepresented groups in STEM and cybersecurity fields.
Ensure equitable access to cybersecurity education opportunities.

Support National Cybersecurity Workforce Development
Align with national efforts to build a skilled and diverse cybersecurity workforce.
Foster early exposure to cybersecurity principles and ethics.

Emphasize Cybersecurity Ethics and Responsible Behavior
Teach students about responsible digital citizenship.
Highlight the importance of ethical decision-making in cybersecurity contexts.
